Getting to Brazil
If you're traveling from the U.S., here’s everything you need to know about getting to Belo Horizonte for our wedding!
Quick Overview & Tips for Flights
💡 Lili and I will probably be in Brazil from the beginning of November until shortly before Thanksgiving.
💡 Want to explore more of Brazil? Consider booking a multi-city flight—fly into one city and depart from another!
💡 10 days is sufficient for a first time trip to Brazil. 2 weeks is recommended if you intend to visit more than 2 cities. 5 days is fine (including travel) if you’re just visiting for the wedding
💡 Before booking, decide:
Do you want to attend just the wedding and return home?
Or would you like to extend your trip and explore more of Brazil?
💡 Beginning April 10, Brazil will require tourist visas for US Passport holders.
You will need:
A valid U.S. passport.
A valid Brazilian visa or e-visa, beginning April 10, 2025 for tourists and currently for all other types of travel.
Visit the Brazilian government-authorized website to obtain your e-visa: https://brazil.vfsevisa.com
Cost: $80.90 per visa
Takes 1-2 weeks to process.

💡 Getting around:
Rental cars aren’t necessary and discouraged unless you have specific travel needs (car seats for children, traveling with large group, etc.). Driving in Brazil is not for beginners and the parking situation in most places is terrible. If you need a car, contact me before booking.
Use Uber. If you’re traveling with a large group, Uber is still going to be the cheapest option to travel around. Uber Brazil’s rates typically go for $25 per hour of travel time for an UberX. I opt for Uber Black whenever possible due to the quality and size of the cars as cars in Brazil are generally more compact (if you need the extra space).
✈️ Below, I’ve highlighted some flight options to Brazil to serve as a point of reference. Examples will be from DCA or IAD > Brazil Destinations. If you want help looking at flights, message me directly and I’ll hunt with you.
